Is another strong year ahead?

A solid start to the year for Telia Lietuva – sales grew and margins were maintained at last year’s record level.

 

In the first quarter of this year, the company’s revenue reached €128.8M, which is €9M (8%) higher than a year ago. This quarter, turnover increased across almost all of the company’s activities, except for the category of other services. Revenue grew the fastest in the IT (+23% YoY) and mobile services (+9% YoY) segments. Last year, these same areas also demonstrated the strongest growth in turnover.

The company continues to manage costs effectively. Although other operating expenses jumped by 28% compared with last year, cost of goods and services and employee expenses grew much more slowly – by around 4% each. Overall, these costs increased at a very similar pace to turnover – 8%. Accordingly, the EBITDA margin was almost in line with last year’s level at 39.7% and EBITDA increased by 8% compared with the previous year.

Last year was record-breaking for the company, but in the first quarter of this year it managed to earn an additional €2M (+9%) in net profit compared with a year ago, reaching €24.6M.

 

Annual free cash flow remains stably high at €116M (9% yield). In the first quarter, it was supported not only by €3M higher funds from operations, but also by €7M more funds released from working capital than last year.
